MaineR User Group – What does it mean for an LLM to think?
We’re meeting up at Novare Res again after work (5:30PM) as we slowly start to build up the base and regularity of the group.
In March, we thought it’d be nice to have a central topic to discuss and settled on the idea of “thinking” and large language models (LLMs, e.g. Claude, Gemini).
(…among the casual networking, talking about Claude + Positron integrations, complaining in a safe space about impossible data requests)
Mid-April, we will send out a few papers/blogs via the newsletter (yet to be created, but will be created mid-April), so if you’re interested in attending, the reading and details will be sent out there.
Reading is NOT required to attend, but does give attendees a common topic to bond, chat, ask questions, pontificate about.
The group ranges from people who have never used R once to those who depend on it to regularly publish peer reviewed research.
Please RSVP on the Meet Up so we have an idea of how big of a table to snag.
We’ll also announce that we’ve got our first guest speaker booked in for later this year!

Look for the group with the letter R on the table!
