DESCRIPTION:This is a virtual event for Nexus Maine members courtesy of our friends at Carta! \nStarting a business is hard\, but the potential upside can change lives if you’re able to achieve a successful exit while maintaining a reasonable amount of ownership in that business. In this session you will learn: (1) the basics of equity and cap table management\, (2) how equity amongst co-founders is typically divided\, (3) how to size an option pool\, and (4) how to properly incentivize advisors and your first 10 hires. \n​We will also have Maine specific startup data presented from Carta’s database. \nPresenter Bio: Ryan O’Conor manages VC and Accelerator partnerships at Carta. Prior to Carta\, Ryan spent 3 years at DoorDash building its white-label delivery business. Before joining DoorDash\, he spent 7+ years working in business development and partnership roles across several early-stage companies.
