Career/Bio Overview
I am an Energy Management professional who is constantly fascinated by the fast pace, ever changing space of energy & data centers. What traditionally was a pretty boring industry seems to be the silent backbone driving all the tech news I read today. I fell into this industry 4 years ago when I joined a start up developing data centers for bitcoin mining. We were later acquired by CleanSpark in 2024 and is where I currently work.
Energy Management is the combination of measuring and monitoring how much, when, and where an operation is consuming energy; making efficient use of the energy; and mitigating risk to volatile energy prices. Ultimately I try to help us make smart decisions around our usage by bridging together our technical, financial, and operational teams...a bit challenging at times!
With the mismatch of planned generation and forecast demand combined with societies behavior shifts in consuming energy, the energy industry has some large challenges ahead it. All of this disruption offers many opportunities to problem solve, which is what excites me about the industry.
Why Maine?
I was born and raised on the seacoast of New Hampshire and did not fully appreciate the area until I left for college and my early professional life. I realized I wanted to get back to New England, so I figured out how to do that as quickly as possible. Portland, being the best city in New England, was an obvious choice! Access the mountains, ocean, and all the Portland has to offer is unmatched.
