Nexus Maine - Lock in for Fall
MCB's LaunchPad Live Pitch Event, happy hours, pickleball, and jobs!
The Patriots got their first win, Dunkin’ ads for PSLs are lurking around the corner, and we’re looking for any excuse to crack the first pumpkinhead of the season. Fall might not officially start for another week, but we’re locked in.
On that note… we are so excited for Maine Community Bank’s LaunchPad Live Pitch Event on October 21. This is the flagship Fall event we are associated with. If you liked the Summer Social we hosted with MCB in July then you are going to love this. We encourage every Nexus member to join! (Register here)
On the less formal side, we’re also cooking up a casual happy hour at Great Lost Bear and a pickleball mixer. Let’s get together and have some fun.
Lastly, if you want even deeper connections and direct access to everyone in the Nexus community please apply here to join us in the Nexus Slack group.

Career/Bio Overview
Over the past decade, I’ve worked in both corporate finance and PE-backed startups in the animal health and veterinary medicine space. I first entered the industry by chance, starting at IDEXX as a Financial Analyst after graduating from UMaine. That experience sparked a real passion for the field and eventually brought me to Rarebreed Veterinary Partners, where I most recently served as Director of Finance. I’m now with the Animal Welfare Society as Director of Operations.
Throughout these roles, I’ve implemented systems and processes, developed reporting and insights capabilities, built strategic models, and helped drive change management. I’ve learned lots from working across some great teams and have really enjoyed applying those lessons in my current operations role.
Why Maine?
I grew up in Lewiston, and went to college at UMaine. My family is very tight knit (largely all within the Lewiston/Auburn area), so being close by was a priority to me. I ended up in South Portland because of the work opportunities, the awesome food scene, and being close to the beach.
Away from the keyboard
I am either at the beach with my wife, walking our dog Murphy, golfing, or spending time with family.
Let's Talk
Message me on slack, email camraymond9@gmail.com, or linkedin.
I love the startup space, and if anyone is in need of any financial modeling or analysis for their next venture, I’d be happy to help.
Also, please reach out if anyone is interested in getting involved with the Animal Welfare Society. There are tons of opportunities to get involved (fostering, volunteering, events & fundraisers) and some great community resources (open to the public animal hospital, adoption center, and behavior & training classes).
Thank you for making this community special, everyone! See you on Slack.
