Happy holidays everyone! As 2024 comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on an incredible year of growth, connection, and collaboration within the Nexus Maine community.
What started in March of this year as a small idea to bring Maine’s entrepreneurs together (and make at least one friend) has blossomed into a thriving network, thousands of connections, and big dreams for the future.
Here’s a look back at the milestones we achieved, the relationships we built, and the momentum we’ll carry forward into 2025. Let’s celebrate the community we’ve all built together.

A Peek into 2025
Thank you to everyone who provided feedback. We sincerely appreciate it and know the future of this community is bright. Here’s what we are striving for in 2025:
Quality over quantity: Not only is the caliber of people in this group incredibly high, but the quality of engagement and thoughtfulness is special. We will focus on slow organic growth that maximizes impact without diluting the experience of existing members.
Continue with the fan favorites: Unstructured happy hours, coffee meetups, and matchmaking are here to stay!
Adding new event types: We’ve heard strong feedback for events that reach beyond Portland, revolve around activities other than drinking, take place at different times, and that are focused on specific topics. While we won’t be able to do everything in 2025 we will work to broaden the scope and impact of our events.
Introduce new community resources: Our goal is to create additional lasting public goods for this community such as an improved member directory, career/job resources, curated services lists, and more.
